Our client is searching for a Transport Broker to join their team.
Job Description
The Transport Broker will be responsible for (firstly) building and expanding the Company’s client base through finding and securing new or additional work, (secondly) building and expanding the Company’s capacity by identifying and onboarding suitable subcontractors and fleet broking companies, as well as (thirdly) successfully broking and manage additional work via subcontractors and fleet brokers.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying and vetting prospective clients, subcontractors and brokerage firms to build a pipeline of service providers and clients.
- Gathering information from clients to determine their needs.
- Obtaining quotes from carriers and passing them on to clients.
- Booking freight service through subcontractors for clients.
- Coordinating the pickup and drop off of consignments.
- Monitoring the progress to ensure that goods arrive promptly and undamaged.
- Advising clients on potential issues and delays.
- Updating Fleet Management System with relevant information.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Gr 12 or equivalent (required).
- Qualification in Fleet Management and Logistics (advantage).
- 2 to 4 years of proven experience as a logistics/fleet controller -
- must have managed a small fleet
- must have dealt with subcontractors/clients.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn and grow in the role.

Languages
Ability to Commute:
- Driver’s License with own reliable transport
- Living within the Pretoria North Region or willing to relocate before commencing.
Workhours
- Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 17:00
- Must be available after hours and on weekends to deal with issues.
