Job Summary
This role is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or junior candidate eager to gain valuable experience and grow their career in Health & Safety within an FMCG environment.
As the Health & Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring workplace safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting H&S risks and violations. Key responsibilities include conducting and managing Health & Safety audits and managing and following up on IODs and other incidents. You will increase Health & Safety awareness across the site, arrange regulatory appointments, and conduct site inductions. Additionally, you will develop, implement, and train staff on safe working procedures, maintain Health & Safety documentation, and ensure Toolbox Talks are conducted.
To succeed in this role, you should have a relevant Health & Safety qualification or certification, with SAMTRAC certification being advantageous. Exposure to quality management systems such as ISO9001 or FSSC 22000 is preferred. Candidates should have some experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
