Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team.The Senior Legal Counsel will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal support, reviewing and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance and managing legal risks within iOCO Digital. This role requires a seasoned legal professional with a strong background in corporate law, contract management and governance. You will work closely with senior management and various stakeholders to support the organizationâ€s digital transformation and innovation initiatives.  What youâ€ll do: Commercial and Corporate Legal Advice: Provide expert legal advice to business partners and internal stakeholders, including senior management, with minimal supervision. Your focus will be on mitigating legal risks and resolving complex legal issues while supporting key business initiatives. Strategic Project Leadership: Serve as the legal lead on strategic projects, actively participating in project teams and working groups. You will provide critical legal insights and guidance to ensure successful project outcomes. Drafting and Negotiation: Exhibit advanced proficiency in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements essential to the business. Commercial Acumen: Apply a deep understanding of the business landscape to align legal advice with the companyâ€s commercial objectives, ensuring that legal strategies support business growth and success. Judgement and Decision-Making: Utilize strong judgement and decision-making skills to navigate complex legal matters, providing sound advice that reflects the best interests of the business. Collaboration and Team Engagement: Foster a collaborative work environment, engaging effectively with team members and other stakeholders. Your ability to work closely with others will be crucial to achieving shared goals. Your expertise: Extensive post-qualification experience in corporate law, ideally within a similar industry or in a senior legal role Strong knowledge of commercial law, contract law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Excellent negotiation, communication and leadership skills. Experience in the IT industry will be an advantage including working with OEMâ€s. Qualifications required: A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree is essential. Admission as an Attorney or Advocate in South Africa.
