Job Summary
Main purpose of the job:
- To provide comprehensive medical care/clinical support to patients enrolled in treatment and prevention programs at the Bara Neo-Inspire and to participants enrolled into clinical trials at the unit
Location:
- Baragwanath Neo Inspire, Chris Hani Baragwanath, Soweto - Johannesburg
Key performance areas:
- Provision of clinical care to patients and participants
- Accurate and comprehensive medical record keeping
- Management of patient/participant flow in the clinic
- Clinical trial oversight or management as designated by the principal investigator
- Participation in all phases/components of the research process
- Entering Data in the online data management website. Ensure QC of the data entered
- Facilitation and resolution of queries from Data Management and Internal/External Monitors within required timeframe
- Complete accurate and comprehensive medical record keeping, inclusive of reviewing of results for all participants
- Quality Check of Source Documents during participant visit ensuring any outstanding components are proactively addressed
Required minimum education and training:
- Medical Degree (MBCHB)
- Qualified as Medical Doctor
- Good Clinical Practice Certificate (GCP) will be an advantage
Required minimum work experience:
- At least 2 years’ experience in Paediatric (Can be inclusive of internship/community service time)
- Research experience advantageous
Professional body registration:
- Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)as a Medical Practitioner Independent practice
- Registered with Medical Protection Society (MPS)

- Ability to deal with more than one study at a time with their respective protocols; the candidate will work after hours and weekends as the need arise
- Ability to travel abroad if required
- Ability to be contracted after hours
- Research experience or willingness to learn
