We are seeking a Retail Sales Manager to lead our sales team, focusing on strategy development, team management, and achieving sales goals. The ideal candidate should have significant FMCG (Foods/Beverages) retail sales and management experience, strong customer service skills, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities. They will report to the Managing Director and must possess leadership experience, excellent communication skills, analytical abilities for data-driven decision-making, and a solid understanding of retail operations and sales techniques.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Developing and implementing sales strategies to meet or exceed sales goals.
• Managing and motivating a team of sales staff to ensure they meet or exceed sales targets.
• Analyzing sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
• Maintaining a positive and productive work environment for staff.
• Assisting customers with sales and answering any questions they may have.
• Expanding the basket of products with key clients
• Identifying product gaps and opportunities to increase sales.
• Training and developing sales staff on product knowledge and sales techniques.
• Building and maintaining relationships with key clients.
• Collaborating with other departments to improve overall store performance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Experience and documentation:
• Sales experience in selling fresh and frozen perishable produce. Experienced in the retail industry within Africa.
• Matric / High school certificate (National Senior Certificate) with Mathematics as a subject.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field would be advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Police character certificate, drivers license and valid passport.
• Proven sales track record.
• Experience in managing a team with different cultures.
• Experience in living and working outside of their home country.
