Qualifications and Skills
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum
qualifications and skills:
- Minimum Grade 12 certificate.
- Fire Fighter 1.
- First Aid level 3 OR registered Basic Ambulance Assistant qualification with HPCSA – valid membership card
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Excellent customer relation skills.
- Good listening skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Must be in possession of a valid Code 10/C1 unendorsed driver’s license & PRDP for minimum 2 years.
- Able to work shifts.
- Certificate of medical fitness.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include,
but are not limited to:
- Patrolling designated section of N3 Route.
- Assisting road users in case of breakdowns with petrol, water and changing tyres etc.
- Responding to incidents and providing first aid where necessary.
- Performing scene safety and a pre-warning to secure accident/incidents.
- Extinguish grass and vehicle fires where required.
- Removal of objects which may threaten the safety of road users
- Maintain cleanliness and care of vehicle/s, tools and all equipment.
- Record and report all damages, shortages and incidents to Specialist Incident Manager.
