Job Summary
Qualifications, Skills and Required Competencies to meet the Job Outcomes:
- Grade 10
- Any Technical Qualification will be advantageous
- Storekeeping and good housekeeping
- Valid, unendorsed Code EB Driver’s License requirement (Code EC will be an advantage)
- At least 3 years supervision experience
- Satisfactory oral and written communication skills in English
- Interpersonal relationship skills
- Physically fit to move heavy objects
- Good administrative skills
- Ability to supervise team members
- The daily physical demands are those required to work on the roads and storekeeping.
- Will be required to drive a vehicle with a trailer.
- Provide support on incidents/accidents on the route (road span over an area of ±380km)
- The candidate will be required to work in all-weather conditions.
- Overtime duties might be required from time-to-time.
- The work environment characteristics are those encountered on a typical toll road operation – including site work and working in the store.
- The work shall be located throughout the Bakwena Toll Road and therefore the Roads & Store Asst. will be required to travel and on occasion live outside of Pretoria along the route for specific periods of time.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing traffic accommodation in order to safeguard motorists and the work team on site during any road works that take place.
- Removal of damaged studs
- Repairing existing road surface.
- Installation of new road studs.
- Site clearing and carting to dump all debris.
- Cutting of trees and grass.
- Fix road signs.
- Dig holes for road furniture posts.
- Washing and cleaning of Company vehicles and equipment.
- Stores and maintain inventories at the store.
- Stock taking duties at the store.
- Receive deliveries at the storeroom in a safe and controlled manner, and check for correct quality and condition.
- Maintaining both the inside and the outside area of the stores
- Maintain a safe and tidy condition.
- Working safely at all times in accordance to the OHS Act.
- Any administrative duties as required by management.
