Job Summary
Hire Resolve's client is looking for a Senior Engineering Project Manager in Centurion, GP.
Responsibilities:
Plan the Project
- Define Project Scope: Collaborate with senior management to clarify objectives and boundaries.
- Create Work Plan: Identify and sequence activities required for project completion.
- Determine Resources: Assess necessary resources (time, money, equipment).
- Develop Schedule: Allocate resources effectively and establish a timeline.
- Review Schedule: Discuss with senior management and revise as necessary.
- Set Evaluation Criteria: Define objectives and measures for project evaluation.
Resource the Project
- Recruit Team: Consult with managers to select personnel with the necessary skills.
- Orient Staff: Ensure all team members understand the organization and project goals.
- Manage Resources: Oversee project personnel to achieve deliverables.
- Engage Consultants: Contract qualified experts as needed.
Implement the Project
- Execute Plan: Carry out project activities according to the established plan.
- Monitor Progress: Adjust plans as needed to stay on track for successful completion.
- Communicate: Establish a schedule to update stakeholders on progress.
- Quality Review: Regularly assess the quality of work to meet project standards.
Control the Project
- Compile Reports: Maintain regular project reporting for stakeholders.
- Monitor Budget: Approve expenditures within delegated authority and manage budget adherence.
- Track Cash Flow: Report on cash flow projections and actuals regularly.
- Govern Financials: Manage funds according to company policies and governance standards.
- Maintain Records: Keep financial records current and accurate.
Evaluate the Project
- Assess Deliverables: Verify that project outcomes are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Evaluate Outcomes: Summarize results based on initial evaluation criteria established during planning.
Requirements
- Relevant degree/diploma in Electrical/Engineering/Technical/Construction discipline or equivalent
- Project Management Qualification (i.e. PMP, MBA or similar)
- 15+ years’ experience in related field
- 8+ years’ experience in a Project Management Role
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the following: Engineering / Production / Construction / Quantity Surveyor / Project Management environment, Construction Management, Contractor Management, Mining and Process Plant and related operations environment
- Project Management
- Mining, Process Plant, Logistics, Infrastructure, Quantity Surveyor , Enterprise Project Management Systems, e.g. MS-Projects, Primavera P6, Prism, SAP
- Communicate Effectively: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques
- Creativity/Innovation: Develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organization and to create new opportunities
- Foster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problem, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness
