About the Role:
A leading packaging manufacturing company is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Technical Assistant to support the General Manager. This role blends technical and administrative expertise to optimise engineering processes, drive innovation, and ensure seamless project coordination.
1. Technical Support
- Assist engineers and the maintenance team with process research, design, and development.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement in production processes.
- Solve technical and process-related challenges while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Contribute to the design and advancement of products, systems, or technologies.
- Conduct tests and experiments to validate process designs or modifications.
2. Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for improving engineering processes and propose innovative solutions.
- Support the implementation of systems or software to enhance productivity.
- Maintain comprehensive records of work processes and outcomes.
3. Administrative Support
- Manage the GM's schedule, including meetings, travel, and correspondence.
- Draft and organize communication materials, presentations, and agendas.
- Take minutes during meetings and track follow-ups on action items.
- Maintain organized digital and physical engineering records.
4. Project Coordination
- Track project progress to ensure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate resources such as tools, materials, and equipment.
- Act as a liaison between the engineering/maintenance teams and other departments or stakeholders.
5. Inventory and Resource Management
- Monitor and manage technical supplies and equipment inventory.
- Order and procure necessary project materials.
6. Health, Safety, and Quality
- Enforce health, safety, and quality standards, including GMP and FSSC compliance.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and report safety hazards, accidents, or incidents.
7. Self-Development and Teamwork
- Pursue self-development opportunities and stay informed on industry innovations.
- Foster teamwork, collaboration, and leadership within the team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- Experience: 2-5 years in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
