Job Title: Facilitator for Neurodivergent 17 Year Old - Constantia
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and creative facilitator to support a wonderful autistic, 17-year-old girl, with a PDA profile. The ideal candidate will have experience working with autistic individuals and teaching and must be able to take the lead in managing her educational programme, focusing on both academic development and executive functioning support.
Main Purpose of the job:
To offer personalised daily guidance and support, ensuring she receives tailored learning opportunities that cater to her specific and unique needs. A special interest and passion in neurodiversity and being a secure, source of support are of the utmost importance.
The candidate will be trained by the NDC Facilitation Academy and thereafter receive personalised support from a registered psychological professional for up to 4-6 weeks, working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team based at the Neurodiversity Centre.
General Requirements:
• A valid driver’s license, driving experience and a clean driving record – Essential.
• English language proficiency – Essential.
• Computer fluency – Essential.
• Academically oriented – Essential.
Job Objectives:
• Providing her daily executive functioning support with schooling.
• Supporting her in transitioning to and from school.
• To carry out duties such as facilitating school and learning activities.
• Taking notes for her in class.
• Prompting her to refocus in class.
• Tutoring after school.
• Becoming a core member of the multi-disciplinary team to support her individual needs if and when needed.
• Providing companionship and emotional support.
• Support and scaffolding for her regulation needs (lessening any uncertainty).
Job-Related work experience:
• Previous experience in a role supporting neurodivergent children - Essential.
• Previous experience in teaching – Essential.
• Familiarity with special education strategies, curriculum adaptation, and life skills training.
Job-Related Knowledge:
• Familiarity with low arousal, student-led, neuro-affirming approach - Essential.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to building a trusting, supportive relationship.
• Ability to lead in both structured and unstructured learning environments, balancing academic and practical teaching.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the family and other support systems.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to adjust to the child’s needs and family’s schedule.
• Knowledge of the subjects tutored: Statistics, Natural Science, Psychology, and Advanced Language Studies – Essential.
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in education, psychology, or related fields – Desirable.

• Able to assist with planning and implementing educational activities with her using a creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning according to her learning abilities – Essential.

Salary Range:
· R 12 000 to R 15 000
