Senior Accountant

A highly reputable Assurance, Accounting and Consulting firm is seeking to employ a Senior Accountant. The firm have offices in Paarl and Centurion.

The firm is looking for a self-confident individual with a completed accounting degree, SAIPA/SAICA articles and preferably have supervisory experience. The candidate will work as part of a team but must also be willing to take initiative and capable of working independently. Candidate qualified by experience will also be considered.

Established in response to the high demand for expert trust administration services, this firm has become the go-to back office for many family office entities, private families and B-BEE trusts in South Africa. They offer an all-round back-office service offering and are considered experts in local and offshore accounting, as well as South African personal, trust and corporate tax compliance.

Job Summary:

The Senior accountant is responsible for maintaining the main client relationship and deadlines as well as managing team members to ensure the client financial controls and

compliance runs smoothly. Each Senior Accountant deals with a portfolio of clients, where various team-members provide services. I.e. Income Tax Compliance, Payroll, Cash

Management and basic capturing are all performed by various team-members. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the management of the client and team

deliverables as a whole. Deliverables include managing client financial records, ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements.

This role requires advanced accounting knowledge and strong analytical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting.
• General Ledger Management.
• Month-End/Year-End Closing.
• Budgeting and Forecasting.
• Internal Controls.
• Tax Compliance.
• Team Leadership and Mentoring.
• Cash Flow Management.
• Ad hoc Financial Analysis.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
• AGA(SA) or PA(SA) advantageous.
• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Xero accounting software and Excel (advanced functions).
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend solutions.
• Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliation.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to manage and mentor a team, providing clear guidance and feedback.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Remuneration:

• R240,000 to R300,000 pa ctc, negotiable on experience.
