Job Summary
Hire Resolve's client, a retailer based in Midrand, is seeking a dynamic and experienced IT System Architect to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of their technology infrastructure. This strategic role requires a professional who can blend technical acumen with a forward-thinking approach to drive the client's systems' efficiency, scalability, and security. The System Architect will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the client's IT landscape aligns with and supports their growing business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive IT architecture across hardware, software, networks, and cloud platforms.
- Establish and maintain technical standards, architecture principles, and implementation guidelines.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate new technologies to optimize system performance, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to transform business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Lead and provide technical oversight on complex IT projects, ensuring alignment with architecture goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation, including architecture diagrams, processes, and procedures.
- Conduct performance analysis and infrastructure optimization.
- Ensure all systems meet stringent security, compliance, and disaster recovery requirements.
- Mentor technical team members, fostering growth and architectural proficiency.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years in IT, with a minimum of 5 years in system architecture roles.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), network architecture, database systems, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation, DevOps practices, system integration, and middleware technologies.
- Strong grasp of IT security standards and compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with microservices architecture, AI/ML, IoT, or blockchain.
- Background in agile methodologies and project management.
