Job Summary
Production Lead: Electrical.
A National Diploma: Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering (heavy or light current)/ Qualified Electrician is required complimented by not less than Minimum 8-10 years’ plus solid experience in production/commissioning/maintenance (planning & execution), in the design and manufacture of equipment and turnkey systems preferably for the Marine- or Oil and Gas environment. This will enable him/her to apply the principles of engineering to plan and execute standard and semi-custom production jobs from receiving to completion, during which the Production Lead is responsible for the following key activities
Key performance areas but not limited to the following:
- Review and understand product specification or other documentation that indicates what needs to be produced.
- Planning: Draw up a product realization plan, including all relevant activities such as design, procurement, internal and/or external manufacturing, human-, material- and tool resources, testing and documentation and can identify and understand task priorities clearly.
- Execution: Mange all product realization activities as per the plan. Invoke mitigation plans if something unexpectedly occurs, causing deviation from plan.
- Testing: All products (projects) must be tested in accordance with company policies and other applicable codes and standards.
- Commissioning: All products and systems must be fully commissioned before delivered.
- Documentation: to ensure all relevant documentation for a product or system, as was stipulated in production handover, must be completed within a reasonable timeframe, and handed to Configuration Department.
- Packing & Shipping: to ensure that products and systems is neatly and safely packed before delivery. It is also expected to assist logistics with shipping arrangements.
- All activities must be executed in accordance with Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure compliance to the company’s ISO9000, ISO14000 and ISO18000 accreditation.
- Liaise with the design department regarding any design related problems that was found during manufacturing.
Skills set, experience and knowledge required:
- Proficient in Full MS Office suite and knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks and ERP software advantageous.
- A basic understanding of relevant industry codes such as ASME, ABS, DNV, LRS, IMCA, IMO, will be advantageous
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS18001 would be advantageous
- Good temperament to deal with people in all situations
- Assertive, creative, analytical, and independent thinker and problem solver.
- Good communication skills in English (speak, read, write) to actively pass messages across to clients, manufacturers, and co- workers
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and deliver on-time while not comprising quality, performance, and reliability.
- Must be able to follow instructions to the minutest detail to ensure accuracy and Impeccable attention to detail is required
- Not a clock watcher and able to work overtime
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
