Position Overview: My Client is seeking a highly skilled Security Risk Practitioner to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and overseeing security measures to protect their wildlife, guests, and staff. Reporting directly to the Head Warden, the Security Risk Practitioner will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and safety of the reserve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage anti-poaching strategies and initiatives.
- Coordinate with the Anti-Poaching Network of the Region (APNR) and other relevant authorities.
- Provide emergency wilderness first aid as needed.
- Ensure compliance with security regulations and standards (PSIRA Registered).
- Demonstrate proficiency in firearm handling and possess firearm competency certification.
- Conduct fire prevention and firefighting activities.
- Perform general maintenance tasks as required.
- Maintain and repair security electric fences.
- Utilize drones for surveillance and monitoring purposes.
Desired Requirements:
- Proven experience and training in anti-poaching operations.
- Familiarity with the Anti-Poaching Network of the Region (APNR).
- Certification in emergency wilderness first aid.
- Formal Security / Anti-Poaching / COIN ops trained
- PSIRA registration and demonstrated knowledge of security protocols.
- Competency in firearm handling and possession of firearm competency certification.
- Tracking qualification ( Man tracking preferable)
- Dog Handling skills (alternatively if candidate has their own dog this will be accommodated)
- Valid Driver’s Licence ( preferably with PDP)
- Experience in fire prevention and firefighting.
- Proficiency in general maintenance tasks.
- Ability to maintain and repair security electric fences.
- Experience in the use of drones for surveillance and monitoring.
- Background in environmental studies or strong experience in reserve management (security).
