Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a seasoned and results-oriented Executive to join our senior leadership team. This role is pivotal in driving our commercial strategy, managing key accounts, and leading business development initiatives to fuel our growth in the South African market. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a proven track record of success in the FMCG sector and expertise in value-based selling, RFP management, and stakeholder engagement.
What will you do?
Business Development & Value-Based Solutions:
- Identify and evaluate growth opportunities within the FMCG sector.
- Develop tailored, value-based solutions that meet client needs and drive profitability.
- Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, and Growth teams to align offerings with market demands.
Competitor Analysis & Market Insights:
- Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to inform strategies.
- Lead initiatives to adjust commercial plans based on insights and evolving market conditions.
RFP Management & Negotiations:
- Oversee the end-to-end management of RFPs, including proposal preparation and presentations.
- Lead contract negotiations to maximize profitability and strengthen client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards for all commercial agreements.
Targets & Financial Oversight:
- Manage the Growth team’s sales pipeline and ensure achievement of revenue and profitability targets.
- Oversee budgets and resource allocation to support effective cost management.
- Provide accurate financial forecasting and reporting in collaboration with senior leadership.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing Growth team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement short- and long-term commercial strategies to drive sustainable growth.
- Participate in executive strategy sessions, contributing insights on customer acquisition, retention, and overall business development.
What do you need?
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior commercial leadership role within the FMCG sector.
- Expertise in business development, value-based selling, and client relationship management.
- Proven ability to manage targets, budgets, and financial forecasting.
- Strong understanding of market trends, industry dynamics, and competitor analysis.
- Extensive experience in RFP management and contract negotiations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
