Job Summary
Boutique investment holding company in Stellenbosch with various and diversified holdings is looking to employ a Financial Manager. They have investments in investment management, property, renewable energy, hospitality and education.
The ideal candidate will be a registered CA(SA), AGA(SA), PA(SA) or similar with an exceptional track record, preferably with experience in investments, financial services, or any related industry. Post articles experience in a similar role, experience in related industries will be a definite benefit.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experience finance professional to take charge of the finance function, but also to gain exposure to the operational and strategic side of the business.
Role Description:
- Prepare monthly accounts for businesses, investment SPV’s and liaise with auditors at year end.
- Draft annual financial statements using Caseware.
- Manage and predict cash flows and monitor projects.
- Submit tax returns (provisional, income tax, VAT and dividend tax).
- Manage the company secretarial records of group companies on Profsoft and submit relevant returns to CIPC.
- Manage the short term insurance portfolio of the group.
- Contribute to the development of the Company’s strategic goals, objectives.
- Ensure optimal efficiency of Operations, IT and Facilities.
- Develop, implement and improve sustainable systems and processes for operational and office management.
- Reduce workload of the investment team by assisting, where appropriate, with investment administration matters, including FAIS compliance.
- Ensure that regulatory compliance matters are resolved timeously and in a manner that does not expose the Company to undue risk.
- Assist with corporate governance matters, including supporting the preparation of board materials, maintaining organisational records and minute books.
Qualifications and Experience:
- CA(SA), AGA(SA), PA(SA), CIMA or similar qualification.
- Completed articles.
- Preference for operational or investment middle office experience in a financial services company.
- Must have a broad understanding and / or experience in:
- IFRS

- Basic understanding of investment management

Remuneration:
- R720,000 to R840,000 pa, negotiable on experience.
