Job Summary
Our client, within the motor industry based in Johannesburg North, seeks a qualified and experienced Dealership Branch Accountant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a motor dealership and be well-versed in the financial operations specific to the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the branch's financial records and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and budgets for the branch.
- Reconcile balance sheets and bank statements regularly.
- Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and other financial regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of annual audits and liaise with auditors when required.
- Provide financial analysis and support to senior management.
- Maintain and monitor cash flow and perform financial forecasting.
- Supervise and train junior accounting staff as needed.
- Implement and maintain accounting systems and controls, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Requirements:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Accounting or Finance (e.g., BCom Accounting or similar) preferred
- Proven experience in an accounting role at a motor dealership.
- Experience with Pinnacle software is preferred.
- Must have Grade 12.
- Strong understanding of dealership-specific accounting practices and principles.
- Sound knowledge of financial regulations, VAT, and tax compliance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
