Job Title: Junior System Administrator / IT Support (Rosebank)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior System Administrator/IT Support professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day IT support and assist with the maintenance and management of our IT infrastructure. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to grow in the IT field, with a focus on system administration and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for employees by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
Assist in the management and maintenance of IT systems, including servers, networks, and cloud infrastructure.
Help with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and business applications.
Support and manage Active Directory, Office 365, and other enterprise systems.
Monitor the performance and health of the IT infrastructure, including backup systems and disaster recovery solutions.
Assist with network administration tasks, including configuration and monitoring of routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Support cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS) and ensure proper provisioning, maintenance, and monitoring of cloud resources.
Conduct routine system updates, patches, and maintenance to ensure security and efficiency.
Help with the onboarding process for new employees, including setting up user accounts, email addresses, and access to required systems.
Provide first-line support and assist in escalating issues to senior team members when needed.
Document troubleshooting steps, processes, and configurations for future reference.
Qualifications:
A diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Basic understanding of IT infrastructure components such as networking, servers, and cloud services.
Experience with operating systems (Windows Server, Windows OS, Linux).
Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and other networking concepts.
Experience with Microsoft 365 and Office Suite applications.
Knowledge of cloud services such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Certification(s) such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals are advantageous.
Familiarity with system automation tools or scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
Basic knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
