Job Summary
COMMITTEE ASSISTANT: TAX
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented, responsible, and motivated individual to serve as an Assistant in our tax team. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities are essential for the optimal candidate, as well as a desire to acquire knowledge about corporate taxes and offer tax services.

Contract type: Permanent
Requirements:
- South African Male of African Ethnicity.
- Required to work extended working hours, to meet external stakeholder deadlines, committee deliverables or strategic projects
- Basic knowledge and understanding of financial practices and standards applied in organisations.
- Understanding HR policies and procedures to perform required self-assess.
- Understanding of ICT prescribed practices and legislative requirements for data security and information management.
- Ability to implement and follow governance and compliance procedures.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of how confidentiality arrangements work and legislative requirements and impact of privacy protection mechanism e.g.: POPIA and GDPR.
- The ability to attend to finite detail whilst executing outputs to ensure the quality-of-service delivery.
- The ability to use knowledge of administrative techniques, tool policies and/or procedures to provide enabling functions.
- The ability to analyse situations and to arrive at the best possible solution.
- The ability to apply the principles of problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve a problem in the best of interest of all stakeholders.
- To apply or impose efficient working methods to work effectively or make somebody else work effectively.
- The ability to communicate effectively and efficiently at all levels in the organisation.
- The ability to define, scope, plan and execute projects according to internation project management methodology.
- The ability to utilize the correct computer software and the relevant functionality applicable to the outcomes required.
- The ability to interact with people at all levels in the organisation.
- The ability to mediate between conflicting parties so they can agree to a decision,
- The ability to simplify highly complex processes, text or data so that it is readily understandable for a particular audience.
- The ability to build trust and have an impact on the behaviours, attitudes, opinions and choices of others.
- The ability to manage data flows, archiving/saving data, protecting data for future use and from unauthorized access and ensuring the extraction of data for optimal future use on various platforms.
Experience:
- At least seven (7) years` experience as a personal assistant
- At least three (3) years’ experience as committee assistant
- Executive level stakeholder engagement experience
- Experience of MS Office products
- Data management experience advantageous
Responsibilities:
- General administrative support.
- Management of the Tax Committee Administrative Processes.
- Management of the Tax Stakeholders Administrative Process.
- Assist in the financial and procurement administrative process.
