Responsibiilities
- Drive the modernization and continuous improvement of finance processes, systems, and technologies in collaboration with the Global Director.
- Lead efforts to automate and streamline finance workflows, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Oversee the implementation of new finance systems, delivering training and ensuring smooth user adoption and optimization.
- Act as the regional expert for finance systems and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying exceptions and driving data-informed process enhancements.
- Ensure strict compliance with global finance policies, local regulatory requirements, and tax laws while actively promoting process improvement.
- Analyze proposed changes to finance systems, evaluate their impact on workflows and teams, and propose actionable solutions for effective transitions.
- Provide comprehensive training on finance systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring readiness and proficiency among regional finance teams.
- Regularly review compliance processes, resolve policy-related questions, and maintain updated documentation and training resources.
- Support post-implementation enhancements of finance systems such as Workday Procurement & Expense, ensuring continuous improvement based on user feedback.
- Collaborate with regional teams, IT, and other departments to align transformation initiatives with operational and compliance objectives.
- Communicate effectively across global subsidiaries, resolving finance-related challenges and guiding teams in adopting improved processes.
- Lead testing efforts and gather user feedback to refine new finance system functionalities.
Requirements
- Proven ability to analyze, streamline, and improve finance processes with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong experience in implementing Accounting and Finance policies, with confidence to propose practical solutions objectively.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CA (SA) preferred) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance transformation or compliance roles.
- Solid expertise in ERP finance systems implementation and support, with experience in managing cross-functional discussions and decision-making.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with KPI development, monitoring, and reporting, with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Preferred background in the freight forwarding industry (minimum of 2 years).
- Ability to achieve certification in finance systems post-hiring; prior exposure to platforms like Cargowise is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset and adaptability to work with diverse international teams and time zones.
