A leading, co-educational public school situated in the Centurion area, seeks to employ: A FINANCE OFFICER in a SCHOOL post.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the school's financial affairs, ensuring efficient financial operations, and supporting the overall administration of the school.
Qualifications and Requirements include but are not limited to:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably in an educational institution.
- 5 years’ experience accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of GAAP advantageous.
- Proven track record in financial software applications and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Fluent in English and one other language
Key responsibilities
• Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable processes, including vendor payments, invoicing, and reconciliation. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Payroll Administration: Coordinate payroll processing, including calculation of salaries, deductions, and statutory contributions. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll payments.
• Procurement: Manage procurement processes, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and purchasing goods and services in accordance with school policies and procedures.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders, including the school management team, board of governors, and regulatory authorities.
• Auditing and Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Implement recommendations for improvement as necessary.
• Asset Management: Manage the school's fixed asset register, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal of assets. Conduct periodic asset audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
