Position: Mechanical Engineer
My client is a global leader in diamond mining (since 2016), with a strong commitment to sustainable practices and community development. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team at their open cast diamond mine in Angola.
Main Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance and equipment management, preferably in a mining environment.
Strong knowledge of mining equipment, including crushers, conveyors, and heavy machinery.
Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) and maintenance management software.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Willingness to work in a remote location and adhere to a flexible work schedule.
Fluency in English is essential.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment and machinery used in the mining operation.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly to maintain production efficiency.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source spare parts and ensure timely delivery.
Train and supervise a team of mechanical technicians and maintenance staff.
Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in mechanical maintenance.
Prepare technical reports and maintenance budgets for management review.
