Automotive Plant Engineering Manager (GCC Factories), Durban, Rneg + Ben
- N6/B Tech (in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- The Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) Factories ticket – non-negotiable
- Red Seal Trade Test qualification as a Millwright/Electrician/Mechatronics Technician.
- Supervisory Management or any Management Certificate/Qualification will be advantageous.
- 5-10 years of plant maintenance experience.
- 5 years’ experience in a lead supervisory/managerial role in the FMCG/Manufacturing Industry.
DUTIES:
- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for maintenance of the plant including repair and installation of all electronic, electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
- Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance and repair services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
- Schedule Day-to-Day work for all maintenance technicians.
- Ensure Schedule monthly Preventative Maintenance plans.
- Assign all repair work.
- Regularly Inspecting the facility.
- Operations, services, and activities of a comprehensive plant maintenance program.
- Equipment vendors and sources of spare parts and replacement equipment.
- Methods and techniques of troubleshooting, repairing, and installing plant equipment.
- Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
- Modern and complex principles and practices of equipment and materials purchasing.
- OSHA rules and regulations.
- Electrical codes and accepted practices.
- Methods and techniques of stick, carbon arc, mig and tig welding.
- Programmable logic controls, co-processors and smart relays.
- Methods and techniques of handling and transporting hazardous waste, chemicals and gases.
- Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications.
- Local laws & By-laws, codes, and regulations.
