Job Summary
Maintain and improve product processes to ensure effective startups and sustained plastic manufacturing production operations
Gather data, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement to support engineering projects and plastic production
Monitor machine reliability, ensure product quality, control waste, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Identify and resolve process-related issues and propose solutions to improve efficiency
Train teams on best practices and assist in implementing new systems or software to enhance productivity
Manage inventory of technical supplies and equipment, ordering materials as needed for daily use or projects
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintain cleanliness in work areas, and report safety hazards or incidents
Apply company quality principles, adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and follow food safety standards in line with FSMS
Focus on self-development, stay updated on industry innovations, and contribute to both personal and company growth
Foster teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal relationships, ensuring work is completed to a high standard
Communicate clearly, ensure the team knows their tasks in your absence, and lead by example with a strong work ethic
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2 - 5 years' experience
Strong administration, problem-solving, and fault-finding skills
Skilled in installing parts and related equipment
Excellent communication skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively
Solid understanding of technical drawings and equipment testing
In-depth knowledge of health and safety (H&S) practices and safe working procedures
Technical expertise in processes, including equipment, raw materials, moulds, and downstream systems
Familiar with relevant quality systems and certifications
Ability to make quick, decisive actions in urgent situations
High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
Project management experience and proficiency in relevant software tools
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality outcomes
Minimum requirements:
Grade 12
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
