About the role
The main purpose of the Factory worker is to label packaging, fill products, close products, and package products to be dispatched to the Warehouse. The Factory is the engine of the company and ensures that we have enough products to deliver to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload raw materials, components, and supplies onto machines and equipment Operate machinery and equipment, following safety guidelines to ensure smooth production.
- Inspect product output to ensure quality and identify defects.
- Package finished products for shipment.
- Clean and maintain machinery, equipment, and work areas, adhering to safety regulations.
- Assist in the assembly line, putting together parts of a product.
- Follow the production instructions of the supervisor to ensure that production deadlines are met.
- Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
- Performing physical tasks that require strength, such as lifting heavy items.
- Assembling goods on a production line.
- Following health and safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.
- Keeping work areas clean and tidy.
- Conducting quality checks on finished products.
RequirementsGrade 12 or NQF level 4 is essential.
Diploma in Logistics.
Must not have taken part in the YES Program before.
South African unemployed youth aged between 18 and 34.
Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
Good communication skills.
Physical fitness and stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy items for an extended period.
Technical knowledge to operate, maintain, and repair various types of factory machinery.
Observational skills to identify any irregularities or malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
Problem-solving skills to diagnose problems, determine the best course of action, and implement solutions.
Safety consciousness to adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and others.
Teamwork and interpersonal skills to work effectively with others to achieve factory goals
Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed accurately and to a high standard.
Basic mathematical skills for tasks such as counting, measuring, and calculating.
Reliability and punctuality to ensure consistent productivity and meet factory deadlines.
