Requirements
- Experience in liquid treatment plants and hazardous waste and or facilities management.
- Code 08 license and own transport is a must.
Duties
- To control the hazardous waste disposal and liquids treatment activities in Gauteng
- To ensure that the most possible hazardous waste gets diverted from landfill
- To be responsible for the Health and Safety of all sub-ordinates
- To be responsible for the image of the company being kept to international standards
- Ensure that all legislative requirements with regards to waste disposal are met
- To be a proud representative of the company and seek out and report any opportunities to management.
- To act in a professional manner at all times.
- To communicate effectively by reporting all incidents, accidents and or any other information related to safety, health or environment
- To have knowledge and adhere to the companies intentions as stated in the
- Environmental Policy
- Health and Safety Policy
- Quality Policy
- To report all customer complaints and compliments to the appropriate person
- To report any possible health and safety risks that could affect other staff members
- To report any incidents or near misses to the compliance department
- To fully understand and implement the emergency plan and to respond accordingly when required
- To ensure that all hazardous and high risk tasks are identified and mitigating actions are implemented to reduce such risk.
- To divert maximum amount of waste away from landfill
- Check the previous days productivity reports – Address poor productivity immediately
- Develop processes to improve range of wastes that can be treated and minimize tonnages to landfill.
- Manage labour according to agreed policy.
- Hand in all leave and sick leave forms to the support office
- Have a sales feedback meeting – and discuss any new opportunities
- Ensure that all documentation required by the finance dept is delivered and remains accurate
- Check information of the front office system is captured accurately
- Plan and measure actual operational statistics as well as financial performance in accordance with agreed requirements.
- Permits – check that all permits are up to date – any expired permits to be renewed
- Do staff recognition
- Ensure that wages are done – minimize overtime where they can
- Do disposal accruals
- Undertake all duties and tasks as prescribed from time to time by your Superior.
- Investigate incidents or accidents and ensure that corrective action is implemented and maintained.
