Job Summary
Our Client is looking for a Database Administrator based in Cape Town. This full-time, on-site role will involve overseeing database administration, troubleshooting, to support the company’s operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Administration:
- Manage database tasks such as design, troubleshooting, and replication.
- Ensure smooth operation and performance of databases.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across all databases.
Product Administration:
- Create product codes, descriptions, and allocate barcodes.
- Compile reports and maintain product data.
- Audit and address data gaps in product collection.
- Assist with product data sign-offs (pricing, copy, etc.).
- Manage the storage and accessibility of product and marketing data.
- Communicate with suppliers and handle customer queries.
Coordination:
- Work with Marketing to brief on product copy for packaging and online content.
- Coordinate with Graphics for product photography.
- Update and maintain new product presentation and scheduling.
- Organize and display product samples for internal meetings.
Data Migration:
- Reorganize, clean up, and maintain the server files.
- Conduct audits to ensure adherence to file structure and naming conventions.
- ODOO System Management:
- Manage product data, pricelists, and BOM links in ODOO.
- Assist with importing, exporting, and syncing product data across platforms.
- Resolve ODOO system issues and escalate where necessary.
- Provide ODOO assistance and training to teams.
Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12, BSc in Information Systems.
- Certifications: Microsoft SQL Server certification.
- Experience: Knowledge of Odoo (advantageous).
- Computer Literacy: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel).
- Problem Solving: Moderate ability to resolve issues effectively.
- Organizational Skills: Strong time management and deadline-oriented.
- Communication Skills: Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written skills.
- Project Management: Ability to manage tasks and deadlines effectively.
