Job Summary
The Senior Buyer will play a critical role in our clients procurement team, responsible for managing the purchasing of materials and services for civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in buying civil engineering materials, experience negotiating with suppliers, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement procurement strategies for civil engineering projects
2. Source and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services
3. Review and analyze purchasing contracts and agreements to ensure compliance
4. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and timelines
5. Monitor supplier performance and conduct supplier evaluations
6. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
7. Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities and expenditures
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Civils, Cement, Construction or related industry
3. Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software
5. Excellent communication and organizational skills
6. Knowledge of civil engineering materials and industry trends
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
8. CIPS qualification is desirable
