Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Education: Matric with 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Supplier Management: Skilled in building strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Procurement Expertise: Proven track record in aligning purchasing decisions with demand and inventory levels.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiar with international trade and procurement regulations.
- Communication: Strong ability to liaise with suppliers and internal teams for seamless procurement processes.
- Customs Compliance: Experience in managing customs clearance for international shipments.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to evaluate market trends, supplier performance, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Problem-Solving: Aptitude for resolving procurement issues, including customs delays and quality concerns.
Proficiency:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Syspro is a plus.
- Attention to detail, adaptability, and dedication to teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and finalize POs based on inventory needs.
- Maintain accurate records, manage changes, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate logistics and verify goods upon receipt.
- Organize cost-effective and timely freight solutions.
- Oversee customs clearance and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Maintain safety stock levels and manage inventory transfers.
- Build and nurture supplier relationships; ensure timely follow-ups.
- Negotiate favorable pricing and manage updates in procurement systems.
