Job Summary
Hire Resolve's client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Category Manager to join their team in the Chemical Industry in the Western Cape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, specifically within the chemical industry, and a proven track record of effectively managing supplier relationships and driving cost savings.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category strategies to optimize procurement processes and drive cost savings within the chemical industry
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and pricing
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
- Evaluate supplier performance based on key performance indicators and develop action plans to address any issues
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and develop sourcing strategies to meet those needs
- Monitor and track procurement metrics to ensure goals are being met and identify areas for improvement
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, specifically within the chemical industry
- Must have experience with procurement of oil and gas
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software
