Job Summary
Hire Resolve's Client is currently seeking a NC Superintendent Category Management who will play a pivotal role in the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the company's procurement and category management functions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the category strategy within the non-core category areas, driving cost savings, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring supply chain sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category management strategies in line with organizational objectives
- Lead supplier negotiations to ensure best pricing and contractual terms
- Conduct market analysis and research to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align category strategies with operational needs
- Monitor and manage supplier performance and relationships
- Analyze spend data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Prepare and present reports on category performance and initiatives
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in category management or procurement in the mining or industrial sector
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage supplier relationships effectively
- Experience leading and developing teams
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Computer Proficiency
- Proficient in MS Office Suite: Word (basic), Excel (advanced), PowerPoint (intermediate), and JD Edwards (basic).
- Communication
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Relationship Building
- Skilled at establishing and maintaining relationships with employees, clients, management, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Project Management
- Competent in managing and coordinating projects involving internal and external parties; experienced in project coordination, planning, budget control, and cost management.
- Analytical Skills
- Proficient in analyzing data, verifying information, and identifying recommendations to support BI (Business Intelligence) opportunities.
- Technical Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of engineering, production processes, and mining operating principles; effectively applies relevant skills and procedures to all technical aspects of the job.
- Other Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License - Code B/EB
