Job Summary
Hire Resolve's client, who is in the Mining Industry, is seeking the expertise of a Procurement Clerk to join their team in Gauteng. The Procurement Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services for the mining industry. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, delivery receipts, and contracts.
- Assist in identifying potential suppliers, obtaining quotes, negotiating prices, and placing purchase orders.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local and international regulations related to procurement.
- Resolve any purchasing discrepancies and work closely with other departments to resolve any issues that may arise.
- Assist in inventory management and tracking of supplies to ensure optimal levels are maintained.
- Provide support to the procurement team in managing the sourcing process and analyzing market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities and trends for management review.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a procurement clerk in the mining industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and contract negotiation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of mining industry regulations and practices is a plus.
- A diploma or degree in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field is required.
