An established group of companies in the manufacturing industry is seeking an adept finance professional to join them at their offices in Epping Industria, Cape Town. The business’s main focus is the specialist design and manufacturing of sustainable, eco-friendly paper packaging solutions.

They are looking for a strong finance resource, preferably with manufacturing, import, export, or related industry experience, and solid costing knowledge. The incumbent must also have an aptitude for getting involved in the operational side of the business.

The ideal candidate must ideally have completed articles (SAICA, CIMA, SAIPA), and a professional qualification would be highly advantageous. Post-articles experience, especially within the relevant and related sector, is highly desirous.

The financial manager will be directly involved with day to day operations and will work directly with the CEO of the business and with the external accountants.

This business has grown significantly in the most recent periods, thus there is definite room for growth within the business and also in career prospects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including monthly variance reports.
• Oversee monthly accounting process and function.
• Compile management reports for banks and CEO.
• Responsible for cashflow management, cash forecasting & reporting.
• Oversee and assist debtors, creditors, payroll clerks.
• Final control of general ledger, accruals, provisions, depreciation and journals.
• Responsible for Statutory reporting - VAT, PAYE, UIF, WCA, CIPC, etc.
• IDC facility management with Nedbank and assist with monthly audits.
• Assist with the import of material & dealing with customs.
• Finalising and reconciliation of trail balance for annual financial statements
• Control and manage supplier payments.
• Direct involvement with day to day operations, assist the CEO and the external accountants.
• Compile manufacturing specific reports.
• Prepare information for annual audits, including preparation of accounting packs, annual financial statements, lead schedules, etc.
• Assist with budget preparation.
• Ad hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A postgraduate qualification in finance or accounting is essential.
• Completed articles (SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA) will be an advantage.
• Professional qualifications CA(SA), AGA(SA) or PA(SA) will be highly valued.
• Experience with Quickbooks, Payroll software and eFiling.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience.
• Preferred experience in Manufacturing, Export, Import, or related industry.

Remuneration:

• R45,000 – R55,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience.
