SHE Officer - Mining

Description:Hire Resolve's client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Officer to join their mining team based in North-West. The SHE Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and promote a safe and sustainable work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Provide safety training and educational programs for employees to promote awareness and compliance with safety procedures
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures
- Monitor and analyze safety, health, and environmental data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations and best practices
- Serve as the primary contact for government agencies, auditors, and other regulatory bodies regarding safety, health, and environmental compliance
- Coordinate and participate in safety committee meetings and activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Degree/Diploma in Safety Management or Environmental Management
- Certificates in ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 or equivalent qualification
- HIRA Certificate
- SAMTRAC Certificate or equivalent
- Experience/Exposure on MS Dynamics F&O, Reporting tools: MS Power BI
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience with SHE
- Valid Drivers License
