Job Summary
The purpose of the Logistics Planning Engineer is to optimally maintain systems and processes by ensuring efficiency, productivity and performance through the application of sound engineering principles and methods.
Minimum qualification:
Post Grad Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process analysis – Analyse and evaluate to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks and effect the necessary change
- Streamline workflows – Conduct studies and simulations to enhance productivity and eliminate Muda
- Planning and optimising – Assess manpower requirements, skills and training needs
- Work schedules – Allocate resources optimally to manage change points and implement production improvement strategies
- Layout - Optimise factory layout considering factors space utilisation, material flow, ergonomics, and safety regulations
- Supply Chain and Logistics Management - analyse networks, inventory, systems, and strategies reducing costs and lead times
- Quality Control - Implement quality control procedures and develop strategies to monitor and improve production
- Process improvement - Perform root cause analysis for quality issues, and implement corrective actions to enhance overall quality performance.
- Project Management: Lead project teams responsible for implementing process improvements, ECI change or new projects
- Project leadership - Coordinate tasks, set project timelines, manage budgets, and ensure successful project execution.
- Decision-Making: Utilize data analysis techniques to gather, interpret, and analyse production date to identify trends and make informed decisions and recommendations
- Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing (TPS) - Promote a culture of continuous improvement (Kaizen) by implementing lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
