Job Summary
We are looking for a Payroll & HR administrator for an esteemed client located in Brakpan (payroll of 180 people across 6 factories). The payroll is currently running off SAGE, so would be preferable if they have worked on SAGE. They would need to have worked with weekly wages, understand overtime, set up of clocking devices, understand setting up of benefits, upload files etc. This is a unionised environment, so payroll must always be 100% accurate. The incumbent must be successful at setting up proper systems and processes, be deadline driven, understand the labour law when it comes to payroll (e.g. leave types, overtime rules etc.), be willing to automate the processing of information into the payroll as much as possible , preferably have experience working in a unionised environment with bargaining councils, be able to do the twice yearly employer tax reconciliations, issue IRP5s, run dummy payslips, do COID returns and manage 3 rd party payments The incumbent must be able to manage their time properly, must be detail orientated and have sound understanding of the BCEA The incumbent in addition will also be required to run with HR related functions such as: - Analysing skills gaps in the work force Setting up the necessary training interventions Bringing in apprentices, learners, interns into the business Be available to assist the workforce with any related HR issues raised Assist the business in drafting warnings, suspension notices and notices of disciplinary hearings and keeping record of these Regularly checking leave schedules and ensuring leave records are correct and up to date Scheduling employee wellness days Issuing certificates of service and UIF forms Assist with EE data collection, reporting and yearly submissions Maintain and consolidate information on skills development for BEE purposes REQUIREMENTS The requirements and qualifications for this position include: Bachelors degree/diploma or equivalent in HR preferable Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing, or production environment. Sound payroll experience of +/- 5 years managing shift systems Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with factory staff Proficiency in using software tools (Microsoft Word, Excel. Etc.) and willingness to learn any new lab software/SAP system. Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Problem-solving aptitude with the ability to make good decisions under pressure. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Ability to be a team player.
