The Account Manager is responsible for sales and sales administration. To build and maintain customer relationships, Account Management and New Business Development within the Public Sector. The Account Manager must have Technical and Solutions knowledge
Key Responsibilities:
• Market the Company, its Products, Solutions, and continuously improve the Client's perception of the Company;
• The Account Manager must have a good understanding of the following;
o Client Organizational Structure;
o Client Environment;
o Client decision making process;
o Client's KPI's;
o Client Projects and Strategic direction;
o Client Procurement cycles and processes;
o Understand the competitive landscape.
• Provide Clients with continuous Product and Solutions updates;
• The Account Manager must understand the various contracts within the Public Sector;
• Responsible for the day to day management of current Clients, and also to generate new business;
• Achieve Quarterly and Annual Sales Targets;
• Maintain and grow market share within the Public Sector;
• Provide weekly feedback on pipelines and quotations as well as strategic initiatives for projects;
• Conduct and submit monthly sales forecasting;
• Update Sales Tools and relevant systems, along with the Customer Information Sheet;
• Client calls: Physical visits - all Clients at least once every 2 weeks, minimum of 12 Client visits per week;
• Client calls: Telephonic - all Clients at least once a week. Must be able to do daily call planning on all Accounts allocated;
• Prepare and provide Clients with quotations on request;
• Follow up on a bi-monthly basis on quotations (possible and already distributed);
• Ensure Client is updated on deliveries and order progress as and when needed;
• Do deliveries if required;
• Provide after-sales support to Clients;
• Follow up on Invoices and Payments;
• Attend weekly debtor's meetings;
• Training:
o Attend product training sessions;
o Ensure internal training is up to date on a quarterly basis;
• Attend sales meetings;
• Attend marketing events;
• Assistance as and when required with tender submissions;
• Ad-hoc requests as and when required.
Qualifications Required:
• Senior Certificate, or relevant qualification (preferred);
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in a senior sales positions within the Public Sector;
• Technical Knowledge (IT Hardware (preferably Dell, EMC);
• Solutions Knowledge (Enterprise Solutions, for example storage, server, virtualization, backup, archiving, consolidation and cloud);
• Product Knowledge (Dell (Client and Enterprise), Lenovo (Client and Enterprise), VMware, Commvault, EMC, some Networks (infrastructure and cabling) as well as Unified Communications knowledge.
• Should have achieved a Target performance of more than 75% over the past 3 Years
