Principal Accountabilities
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the booking process, addressing any concerns or enquiries promptly and professionally
• Employ sales techniques in order to secure and process invoices for guests in a timely manner
• Build and maintain relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities and provide regular reports to management
• Quote and setup new group requests in the system (BEE)
• Responding to incoming quotes and emails within a 24 turnaround time
• Manage group bookings from A-Z , including but not limited to chasing payments, balancing and completing legal requirements
• Update groups with changes and additions as needed
• Manage Charter and Theme cruises
• Book and manage International Group Bookings
• Manage special projects that may arise
• Perform other duties as assigned on an ad-hoc basis
• Manage Admin duties daily such as the below, but not limited to:
Quotes / Confirmations
Payment Chasing
Room lists
DPP Forms
Contracts
Emails
Key Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service background, great attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and is self-motivated.
• Experience: Previous experience in sales, preferably in the travel industry or cruise sector, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with cruise products, destinations, and industry trends. Knowledge of different types of cruise ships, cabin categories, and onboard amenities is advantageous.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively engaging with clients
• Customer Focus: Strong customer service orientation with the ability to anticipate and fulfil the needs of large group clients.
• Organizational Skills: Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple client inquiries, bookings, and administrative tasks efficiently.
• Attention to Detail: Attention to detail in creating customized cruise packages and preparing accurate proposals and documentation.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from various departments to achieve sales objectives and ensure customer satisfaction. • Salesmanship: Strong persuasion and selling skills with the ability to influence potential clients and close deals effectively.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in using sales software, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the same or similar role
