This role requires the incumbent to interact with customers, offer guidance, point out products, and assist them in making purchasing decisions. Their primary responsibility is to facilitate sales through explaining the features and benefits of products to customers to assist them in making purchasing decisions. In so doing they are required to maintain an in-depth product knowledge to provide customers with the best, most accurate information possible to support purchasing decisions and ultimately to drive sales within the branch.
You may be required to assist with duties outside of your core role to support the business in driving sales and managing the debtor’s book. This could range from assisting in displays/promotions, maintaining general housekeeping to supporting with other store related activities.
What you'll do

- Making telephone calls to re-servable customers from the Re-serve List.
- Accompany all customers to the cash desk and thereby establish needs and build up a relationship for future business.
- Make appointments with customers to see them at their home.
- To be able to use the various sales techniques of the company to best effect and therefore have a good knowledge and understanding of these basics, i.e. The Re-serve Plan and other basic principles as contained in the manual "Sales the basics of the business".
- Work flexi time when needed to see customers after hours, whether it is in the shop or at the customer's home.
- To attend training sessions on selling skills and sales techniques as well as product knowledge training to better his/her sales performance.
- Treat customers with friendliness, dignity, and respect.
- Build lifetime customers by showing a genuine desire to be of assistance to them.
- Confirm that customers are satisfied with their purchases by making courtesy calls after delivery has taken place.
- In the case of any customer dissatisfaction, be prepared to listen and take the appropriate action to rectify matters and regain the customer's confidence in yourself and the company.
- Escalate long outstanding issues to the BM and Regional Controller to support management of issues.
- Ensure customer complaints and feedback is managed within the required period.
- Organize and plan salesmen's evenings with customers as agreed upon and within the given budgets.
- Follow through on any leads arising from the events shortly after these have taken place.
- Keep abreast of all merchandise lines in the store to support solid product understanding and knowledge to drive sales.
- Ask sales representatives to show and demonstrate their products for in-depth understanding.
- Study and have a good knowledge of the sales plan of the current sales drive.
- Know the location of stock on the floor.
- Ensure safe working environment, through maintaining housekeeping standards, management and adherence to risk assessments, and taking responsibility for health and safety concerns within section/department.
