Job Summary
Introduction To be based at Head Office(Tokai), the Assistant Financial Controller will be responsible for assisting the Finance Executive with ensuring professional financial activities within the Company. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Cash Flow Management Review and allocate daily cashbook transactions to the Cashflow file. Assist in preparing and reviewing a monthly master file, tracking changes and analyzing variances in cashflow projections. Generate and review weekly cashflow tracking reports for the Financial Executive. Follow up on outstanding customer payments and ensure timely collections. Collaborate with the Accounts Payable Team to develop cashflow projection files, optimizing the overall cashflow process. 2. Subsidiary Ledger Processing Manage invoicing for ad-hoc and internal stock orders. Distribute debtor statements, issue ESD credits, and manage debt collection. Execute day-end processes, including journal entries and resolving batch errors. Process and update exchange rates, conduct monthly AR & AP revaluations. 3. Monthly Financial Operations Assist in calculating VAT and preparing relevant documentation for submission to SARS. Support the completion of annual SARB approvals. Help manage insurance reviews and maintain records of vehicles and other assets. Obtain and manage fleet reports (Avis, WesBank, Cartrack) to recover shared costs. Manage corporate credit cards, including reconciliation for international travel and handling cardholder requests. Oversee cell phone transactions. Review and process payments, especially for foreign vendors, and provide feedback on any discrepancies. Assist with reconciling balance sheet control accounts. Enhance the efficiency of travel and entertainment bookings, processing, and analysis. Maintain motor vehicle journals. 4. Audit Preparation Prepare necessary financial documentation for internal, external, and BBBEE audits. Act as the primary liaison for auditors, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided. 5. Stock Pricing Updates Provide ongoing updates regarding stock pricing. 6. Budgeting and Reporting Contribute to the preparation of annual SGA budgets when required. Monitor and analyze monthly spend versus budget across different regions. 7. Leadership and Collaboration Serve as a bridge between the Accounts Payable and Financial Accounting teams, fostering collaboration and business partnerships. . Desired Experience & Qualification A relevant SAIPA/CIMA qualification is essential. Proven experience as a Financial Controller. 8+ years of combined experience in accounting and finance, with a preference for candidates with experience in the liquor or FMCG industries. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures. High attention to detail with excellent communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically. A team player who can also work independently, with initiative. Willingness to work extended hours when necessary. Package & Remuneration 650-750k p/a
