Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-driven Accountant II with expertise in managing financial records, ensuring compliance, and optimizing processes. Skilled in reconciliations, budgeting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making. A reliable numbers expert dedicated to accuracy and efficiency. What youâ€ll do: Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, etc. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making. General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with   accounting standards and regulations. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management. Collaborate with departments to develop realistic budgets aligned with strategic goals. Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Processing of Statutory work (VAT Recon, completing SARS E- filling and all VAT audit queries etc.) Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits. Financial Operations Support: Support day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Streamline processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices in financial management and reporting. Fixed Assets: Maintaining fixed asset register and reconciliations. Assist with reconciliations pertaining to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Virtual Bank accounts, Bank account reconciliations, All clearing accounts. Successfully manage and lead personnel. Coaching, training and ensuring accurate and timely AR invoicing is non-negotiable. Your expertise: Function related experience: 8 years in a similar role Strong skills with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Adept at using technology including a variety of software/online, analyse and record information. Excellent organizational and time management skills Flexibility and adaptability An effective communicator (written and verbal) A ‘team player†with the ability to work within a collaborative and ever-changing environment. Ability to manage quality deliverables with tight deadlines, pressurized environment. Good interpersonal skills Disciplined and self-motivated High degree of accuracy Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in finance/accounting Preferred Qualifications: Relevant professional certifications, such as CIMA, or similar Other information applicable to the opportunity: Permanent Position Location : Midrand Work environment : Hybrid - 3 days at the office and 2 at home Travel : To and from office Why work for us?
