Hiring: Graduate mechanical engineer (Modderfontein)
Overview
We are looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join as an Applications Engineer. This is a graduate role where you will support clients with software solutions, provide technical demonstrations, and assist with training and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Client Support: Help clients identify needs and recommend software solutions.
Software Demonstrations & Training: Assist in showing clients how to use software (3D design, PLM tools) and provide training.
Implementation & Support: Assist with software implementation and troubleshooting.
Collaboration with Marketing: Help create marketing materials and technical demos.
Learning: Continuously develop technical skills and industry knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: No prior work experience needed, but internships or relevant projects are a plus.
Skills:
Familiar with 3D design software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks).
Basic knowledge of 2D drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD).
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Eagerness to learn and support clients.

Additional responsibilities will include:
- Managing junior applications engineers on day-to-day tasks,
- Overseeing task allocations to ensure deadlines are met and KPI’s achieved.
- Scoping occasional client project requirements
- Overseeing Helpdesk Ticketing system to ensure targets i.r.o. query resolution are met.
Some National, and occasional international travel is a requirement of this role.
Candidates should possess, or be prepared to obtain, a valid passport
Candidate must be fully vaccinated against Covid 19.
Candidate must not have a criminal record.
Candidate must have a full clean driver’s licence and own reliable transport. All business travel, accommodation, meals etc are pre-booked and arranged by our travel agents, so staff never incur any out-of-pocket expenses.
