RESPONSIBILTIES: Produce and distribute monthly management reports to agreed time scales. Produce detailed quarterly cash flow forecasts to form the basis for the working capital. Produce required financial reports and management accounts for internal and external distribution including to members of the Board of Directors, stakeholder groupings, executives, and portfolio investment entities. Produce annual financial reports and statements to agreed time scales to comply with International Financial Reporting standards, the requirements of the JSE Listing Requirements, South African Companies Act, the south African Income Taxation Act and other relevant legislation and legal frameworks. Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the group, such as investment accounting, banking, invoicing, maintenance of the general ledger system and accounts. Oversee, supervise and direct the work performed by the two accountants. Review contract and write technical papers in terms of the treatment of various investments. Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are produced on an accurate and timely basis to include bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors and inter-company accounts. Establish and ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures and systems including seeking out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company. Manage the payroll system and ensure that payments are made to individuals and SARS to set timetables. Maintain current standing with all mandated CIPC and SARS and where relevant for trusts - benefits registrations and requirements, including submissions of payments and reports (CIPC, SARS, PBO status, NPO status etc). This may entail acting as the Public officer on some group entities. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management and accounting. Ensure appropriate external audit arrangements are in place and manage the audit process. Stay up to date with technical developments relevant to the role (changes in IFRS, JSE Listing Requirements and other regulatory changes). Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation. SYSTEMS EXPOSURE: SAGE products Hyperion or OneStream
