Job Summary
Hire Resolve's Client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to lead and manage the bar operations at our Cape Town venue. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, exceptional customer service skills, and a strong background in managing a bar team to ensure efficient, profitable, and smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Bar Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar at all times.
- Manage bar opening and closing procedures.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise bar staff.
- Foster a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and high performance.
- Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance skills and productivity.
Customer Experience:
- Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing complaints and resolving issues efficiently.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and implement improvements where necessary.
- Create and maintain a welcoming, vibrant bar atmosphere.
Menu and Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with suppliers to source quality beverages and negotiate cost-effective deals.
- Develop and update the drinks menu, including seasonal specials and promotions.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock to minimize waste and overages.
Financial Performance:
- Track sales and profitability, implementing strategies to achieve financial goals.
- Monitor pricing strategies to remain competitive while maximizing profits.
- Handle cash management, including daily reconciliations and banking.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Bar Manager or similar role in a high-volume environment.
- Strong knowledge of bar operations, mixology, and customer service principles.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L statements.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Liquor License Manager’s Certificate, First Aid, or Health and Safety).
