Job Summary
A dynamic non-profit organization based in Cape Town, seeks a highly motivated and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their financial strategy and drive business sustainability. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and a passion for making a difference. The ideal individual will have experience managing accounting, finance, and contracting functions in small-to-medium-sized organizations, demonstrating excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks efficiently while contributing to organizational growth and cultural alignment. Responsibilities: Co-lead annual and quarterly strategic planning processes Monitor company performance and analyse key metrics Lead the preparation of annual budgets, mid-year reviews, and regular financial forecasting Manage income, expenditure, and project-specific budgets Oversee financial operations, including VAT returns, PAYE submissions, and compliance Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Prepare accurate costing for products and services Prepare and present financial reports to the Board and funders Oversee the development and refinement of internal financial and operational systems Assist with recruitment, orientation, and continuous staff Oversee contracting, expenditure, and deliverables Assist with forecasting organisational capacity and constraints Ensure the stock kits meet the demand for purchase or hire Oversee the online store, ensuring efficient processes are in Provide financial oversight and operational support for key projects Requirements: Registered CA(SA) or PA(SA) Accounting degree Solid knowledge of IFRS, accounting principles and practices Strong understanding of South African financial regulations, tax laws, compliance and POPIA Proven experience in strategic leadership, people management, business development, contract management, legal compliance and financial management Proficiency in MS Office and MS Excel, with comfortability in technology software Experience with Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax and/or Simplepay (desirable) Experience in the non-profit or development industry (advantageous) Please note if you have not heard from us in 2 weeks from application, please consider yourself unsuccessful - please do continue to follow us online and apply for suitable roles.
