Job Summary
A PE-based company is recruiting the services of a man from the beginning of May 2025.
In its 13th year of operation, the business specializes in the procurement, production and installation of components and related products for irrigation systems. Our clients represent mainly the citrus farming community in the Sundays River valley (Kirkwood and Addo), the Gamtoos River valley, Somerset East and Cradock. We also service clients in PE and further afield on an ad hoc basis.
Our vision for the successful candidate is to potentially become a partner in the business. We need a reliable person who can operate independently with remote support. A 12-month in-service training period is envisaged for the person to become familiar with the detailed operations.
Requirements for the ideal candidate
• Self-motivated
• Knowledge and understanding of irrigation pipework
• Ability to produce technical/working drawings
• Practical aptitude and the ability to implement the concepts
• The ability to work physically with implementation
• Good interpersonal skills – the ability to engage with people at all levels with a professional disposition.
Education & skills
• Admin skills and computer literacy (Excel & Word)
• Proficiency in English and Afrikaans, Xhosa will be advantageous
• EC1 driver’s licence
• Matric
• Integrity & no criminal record
