Are you passionate about safety management and driving a strong safety culture across diverse markets? We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Market Safety Lead to oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of our Market Fleet safety management systems and programs across Sub-Saharan Africa. Diploma in Safety Management or related qualification. At least 6 years of experience in safety management; 5 years of fleet safety experience preferred. Proficiency in accident investigation techniques (ICAM/RCAT/SCAT/LFI) is advantageous. Behavioral Competencies: Strong integrity and ability to work independently to achieve results. Proficiency in English, with strong communication and persuasion skills. Experience in incident investigations and reporting. Ability to cope with uncertainties in a complex organizational structure and deliver high performance under stress. Adaptability to matrix organizations and proficiency in MS Office. Safety Management System Implementation : Lead the implementation of Market Fleet safety management systems in line with established security and market safety principles, practices, and regulatory requirements. Drive Safety Culture : Influence and engage management and other business functions to foster a robust Market Fleet safety culture and achieve safety commitments. Program Integration and Improvement : Ensure that safety procedures and programs are accepted, supported, and integrated into daily processes, facilitating continual improvement. Communication and Visibility : Provide clear direction, capabilities, and communication on safety programs to ensure their success, visibility, and effectiveness. Embed Safety Standards : Ensure that environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards and procedures are fully integrated into all operations. Fleet Safety Management : Implement the Fleet Safety Management Program (FSMP) to enhance driving behavior's and reduce road traffic accidents in alignment with the global strategy. Defensive Driving Training : Support the fleet safety driver training program to promote defensive driving techniques. Incident Management and Prevention : Support accident investigations, analyze root causes, prevent recurrence, and maintain records of fleet safety-related incidents while proposing corrective actions. OHS and Fleet Safety Audits : Conduct safety audits and develop action plans to ensure compliance with safety standards. Emergency Response Management : Develop and implement emergency response procedures, coordinate evacuation drills, and manage emergency response teams, including first aid and firefighting teams. Performance Monitoring : Monitor safety performance data to ensure data integrity, timely reporting, and act on any performance degradation. Incident Response and Reporting : Respond to and report security, market, and fleet safety incidents. Support root cause analysis and implement corrective action plans. Program Health Checks : Perform annual program checks to address gaps and non-conformities, ensuring compliance and following up on implementations. Employee Engagement : Engage employees across all levels to foster ownership of fleet safety programs. Training Delivery : Deliver and supervise all security, market safety, and fleet safety training programs. Maintain up-to-date training records and seek feedback to continuously improve programs and safety culture. Communication and Documentation : Provide input for safety briefs, alerts, and instructions, ensuring all safety programs, documents, and training are communicated, current, and available to staff.
