Job Summary
Hire Resolve’s Client is looking or a dedicated Maintenance Millwright to join their Team in Johannesburg, GP. In this position you will be expected to ensure uptime of all maintenance significant items through carrying out planned and corrective maintenance within the health and safety perimeters.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and conduct daily checks to achieve 90% and 100% completion monthly, respectively.
- Participate in breakdown analysis to reduce downtime and respond to all breakdowns promptly.
- Complete any reasonable tasks assigned by the maintenance supervisor and maintain plant availability at 96% through efficient work.
- Be available for standby duty with personal transport and work overtime as needed.
- Accurately complete job requests, conduct stock counts, and fill out machine checklists in detail.
- Create a performance evidence file for reviews and report any defective equipment to the manager immediately.
- Conduct statutory inspections, perform LOTOTO as required, and aim for zero lost time injuries and first aid incidents.
- Follow health and safety standards, keep hand tools in good working condition, and stop any equipment that poses a danger to staff.
- Report any unsafe actions observed in the factory and communicate daily with production while reporting to the maintenance supervisor.
Requirements:
- Qualified millwright with at least 3 years of relevant experience and a minimum of 2 years in solving hydraulic and pneumatic system faults.
- N6 diploma or in progress (beneficial).
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics required, along with problem-solving skills for temperature control circuits (level 1 preferred).
- Experience with AC and DC motor connections, start delta wiring, and setting up AC drives.
- Proficient in repairing hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, and performing engineering tasks like drilling, tapping, bending, pressing, cutting, and arc welding.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics, and conduct testing on PLC controls.
- Skills in dismantling, assembling, and installing machinery, with experience in conveyor maintenance.
- Experience in control circuit testing for pressure transducers and proportional valves (beneficial).
- Ability to perform panel wiring and basic circuit design from electrical drawings (beneficial).
- Good understanding of mechatronics (beneficial).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical and electrical fault finding.
