Job Summary
Hire Resolve's client is searching for an Operations Supervisor in Cape Town. This position is ideal for a dedicated and skilled individual with proven experience in overseeing operations across various sectors. As an Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing daily operations while ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise warehouse and distribution staff to ensure productivity and adherence to operational standards.
- Oversee the picking, invoicing, and loading of customer orders, ensuring all orders are accurately processed and timely dispatched.
- Ensure orders are organised into routes, and route sheets are generated for delivery efficiency.
- Maintain order accuracy by ensuring that all invoices are correct and ready for loading.
- Supervise the loading of delivery vehicles, ensuring accurate stock counts and documentation.
- Provide assistance for walk-in customer orders and address customer inquiries regarding order status via telephone.
- Assist with receiving stock, ensuring it matches the invoice, and oversee the proper storage and updating of the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Collaborate in conducting regular stock takes to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Communicate with drivers and assistants regarding daily deliveries, ensuring efficient tracking and monitoring via Bid Track.
- Coordinate with the receiving clerk on stock returns, ensuring proper documentation and processes are followed.
- Conduct daily checks on vehicle conditions with drivers and ensure the fleet is properly maintained.
Requirements
- Minimum of Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Strong supervisory and organisational skills with the ability to manage staff effectively.
- Excellent people handling and communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Strong numerical abilities to handle invoicing and stock management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with Syspro, Bidtrack, or other vehicle monitoring systems.
- Strong decision-making skills to address operational challenges efficiently.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines consistently.
- Willingness to work overtime and manage opening/closing of the operations site as needed.
