An advanced South African refinery specialising in adding value to locally sourced precious metals is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join its team.

In this pivotal role, you will lead and mentor the maintenance team, driving process optimization, operational efficiency, and innovation within the manufacturing environment. Your expertise will be key to enhancing productivity and ensuring seamless operations. This position is based in Kempton Park, Gauteng.

Requirements:

• BEng in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• ±7 years of hands-on electrical/mechanical workshop experience
• At least 3 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment
• Strong expertise in industrial engineering, process optimization, and machine design
• Demonstrate proficiency in project management, budget oversight, and resource allocation.
• Possess a foundational understanding of chemistry/metallurgy, enabling seamless collaboration with production teams
• Exhibit exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, consistently delivering innovative solutions.
• Showcase strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills, honed over your career.
• Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, adapting seamlessly to evolving challenges and opportunities.

Duties:

• Apply advanced engineering principles to meticulously analyse and enhance our manufacturing processes, achieving waste reduction and efficiency gains.
• Identify and harness opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and quality enhancement across the entire manufacturing lifecycle.
• Lead initiatives to modify and maintain production machinery and equipment, ensuring they consistently meet performance and safety standards.
• Establish and uphold quality control standards, guaranteeing the consistent delivery of high-quality products.
• Manage a team of artisans, providing them with valuable guidance, support, and training as needed.
• Efficiently manage the maintenance budget, allocating resources judiciously to achieve company objectives.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and industry standards across all engineering activities.
• Proficiently communicate engineering strategies, progress, and challenges to cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with operations, production, and management.
• Manage, liaise and co-ordinate with service providers from sourcing, planning and installation through to completion of projects.
